Dolcetto d’Alba – Bricc du Succ

Yesterday I tried out a new Dolcetto, the Dolcetto d’Alba – Bricc du Succ of the year 2007, made by Piero Benevelli. I must say I’m not dissapointed, not dissapointed at all.
A fruity full bodied wine with a fantastic deep pure flavour and scent, the taste stays a while on the tongue which in this case was very welcome.

Only 30.000 bottles are made of this wine from 2007, making it an relatively exclusive wine, the ettiquete is created by the wife of the winemaker, creating a nice family touch.
The Dolcetto grape is widely grown in Piemonte, a province in the northwest of Italy, this Dolcetto comes from Alba, where the high volumes of the Dolcetto are made.
Dolcetto means little sweet ‘thing’.

Not only for this wine, but for all, open the bottle and let it open for a while, the gasses can exit the bottle whereafter the taste is slightly ‘matured’.
